EduPanda

Our Courses

EduPanda offers Mandarin classes for young beginners, in particular non-heritage speakers from ages 5 -14. The primary goal of this course is to build a solid foundation for learning Chinese as a foreign language and to develop students’ long-term interest in the language.

The course is designed to emphasize the development of communication skills in listening and speaking. Moreover, it will teach students to recognize and read the basic characters of the Chinese language.  It will teach students to write in Chinese, utilizing a step-by-step approach that places particular emphasis on stroke order, radicals, and simple characters. In addition to reading and writing, the course will incorporate songs, games, arts-and-crafts, and other hands-on activities that have been carefully designed and integrated to promote students’ language learning.

Our Curriculum

In this class, we open students age from 5 to 14. Students’ fine motor skills will be developed through fun and interesting activities in the visual arts, including the drawing of lines and pictures and the tracing and coloring of characters. Logical thinking and imaginative skills are nurtured through the exploration of the Chinese language and the culture behind it.  Throughout the learning process, students will grow a deeper awareness and appreciation of cultures and peoples with cultural perspectives and practices that may differ from their own.

For students who have enough time, they can " meet" with their teachers three times a week, just like the normal classes. For students whose time schedule is not flexible enough, they can watch the online class playback, strengthen the review by attendants, and leave messages in time through our online class and management space to ask questions and follow up the review. All registered students have a link to the course playback, which allows unlimited playback of learning. According to the needs of the course, there will be two to three face-to-face courses. Students can participate in more hands-on, brain-moving activities and cooperative performances in face-to-face courses.

[ Textbook]

Easy Steps to Chinese for Kids is a series of Chinese textbooks specifically designed for kids from non-Chinese backgrounds. It covers four levels, each of which is made up of two volumes: a and b (each with a CD). This series has four characters in it, namely Ding Yi, Tian Li, Jingjing and Lele, who are primary school students from China and abroad. Beautifully designed illustrations, simple sentences and dialogues and lovely songs among other means are adopted to develop the kids interest in learning Chinese and help them lay a solid Chinese foundation by mastering such fundamental Chinese knowledge as numbers, basic strokes, families and daily expressions.
