Learning Chinese Through Picture Book for 3-8 year old

[ Course Introduction]

Children's books have an essential role in the lives of our early children. We choose a different categories from a leveled guided picture reading book series which covered for beginning level are  individual, family, school, social studies, animals and plants, and nature, and those for intermediate level are growth and development, humanity and social studies, knowledge and learning, literature and art, natural science, and social science. The child not only learn Chinese characters and phases, but also understand what they are reading, develop a imagination, gain a multi-sensory experience, as well as promote vocabulary and language skills, the problem solving experiences, entertainment, learning experiences, subject matter, and social skills.

Literacy is important in every language. We follow the Balanced Literacy strategy. A Balanced literacy program strikes a balance between both whole language and phonics. The strongest elements of each are incorporated into a literacy program that aims to guide students toward proficient and lifelong reading. There are five different components of balanced literacy: The read aloud, guided reading, shared reading, independent reading, and Word study. The students through balanced literacy methodology will enjoy a fun story and class activities every weekday before or after school.
